More Flickr Fun #5

Here's where publicity would have a field day! I especially like the "pocket album" in the Big Huge Labs because I don't have any portable "tech thing" to wisk through my photos yet. Love all the choices. Onward....

Managing news RSS #3

Remember those old internet discussion groups; then the digests to sort all the messages? If you want to be informed (past MPR--in MN) about everything in the world including library news, RSS would be the way to go so far. (I wonder where the newspapers are going to end up). I'm going back to old times spending an excess of time reading interesting, (but useful?) news with my laptop and at work. "Time" is the nemesis of all of this. Library 2.0, Web 2.0, and the future of libraries. #2

We can do it! -jumping into the technology, sharing ideas, proposals, and projects with all "ages" of librarians and techies. I think the age of knowledge is upon us with a world-wide scope. Libraries are based in knowledge contents. Organizing it, accessing it, sharing it, and spreading it is our mandate. With leaders and time (streamlining and prioritizing are in order) every library will rise to the summit.

p.s. The World is Flat is my challenge to read yet. An essay showed up which peaked my interest in technology and global issues...http://agarsunil.blogspot.com/2007/07/world-is-flat-review.html

Time Capsule--remember?

Does anyone remember that story that a world history time capsule is in outer space and the directions to it have been archived in all the major libraries around the world? Challenged----

Thoughts on starting... (#1 of 23things.....)

Technology will always be charging forward. This is an excellent way to fudge around some areas that make take off with everyone.

I'm interested in uses and previews of the future. I remember a MEMO presentation with Joel Barker (
http://www.joelbarker.com) that sent everyone into orbit.

Maybe that's where we'll be when we're done with this... Comments?
